Highlights:
Red-necked Phalarope.
Two birds were seen flying together at latitude/longitude 41.90796N/-87.37081W (about 13 miles from shore). Scott Judd was able to grab five photos with both birds in each image. The following sequences provide crops of the images that zoom in on the lefthand bird and then the righthand bird. These birds were identified visually by several of the participants, and the photos confirm the ID. Image 2 of the left bird shows well that it is a Red-necked Phalarope; image 1 of the left bird and image 2 of the right bird are convincing that both are of the same species.

Remarks:
Our group was able to keep a good number of gulls behind the boat using a variety of chum. We dragged fish parts in metal cages behind the boat, tossed cat kibbles and popcorn behind, and chopped and tossed fish.
