An adult Lesser
Black-backed Gull was present on Waukegan Beach that illustrates the
fleshy tones that are sometimes seen in the legs and feet in this
species. This bird had fleshy-pink feet, and the lower tarsi were
fleshy-colored. As you moved up the leg, however, more and more of
the usual yellow tones were present.
